I blinked and somehow 3 months has gone by since I've come here to post. I guess sometimes it just doesn't feel like I have much to say...but a lot has definitely happened in the last 3 months. We got all moved out of our house and I happily (or not, haven't decided yet) put my things in storage and moved into my Grandma's house for the summer. I then finished up my job with the School District and made my way down to Redding, California for Bethel Church's Worship U on Campus 2 week school. Which was absolutely amazing. There are no other words to describe what happened while I was there. I met so many people from all over the world that had the same passion, vision, and were so like-minded with me. I really left there with my heart going in a million different places and countries..And even now..I miss those people...I want to stay in connection with them for a long time :)
So before I left Redding, I ended up getting an interview scheduled with a place that I had applied for before I had gone down. :) So I left Redding knowing I was coming back in two weeks for high hopes of getting a job..
I made it back to the Tri-Cities just in time for CreationFest. 3.5 days of Christian concerts, booths, speakers, and sun....and rain...and thunder and lightning..I'm so excited for this to be in my hometown. I've traveled several years to go to this festival and to be able to go hang out there but still sleep in my own bed at night? Highly appealing :) And considering I had bought my ticket in December before I knew who was going to be there and before I realized that I was going to move to California? I mean bonus. I actually ended up spending a lot of time working at the booth that my church was sponsoring..so it was a great time.
Then I had a nice little going away party, got a tattoo, and packed up my car and left Washington..Yeah...I got a tattoo. See it's really my mom's fault. Back that up. It's my cousin's sons fault. He got a tattoo in memorial of my grandpa. Which totally inspired my Mom in her 50's to finally get a tattoo. I mean we've all talked about getting one, but all kind of chickened out when it came to actually getting one. But once she realized that I was really leaving for California, she texted me while I was in Redding and declared that before I came back, we were all getting a tattoo. Haha..the funny thing was this was right after I had gone with two of my roommates and another friend and held the hand of one of them getting a tattoo while we were in Redding, and I was having serious thoughts on whether I actually wanted to get one or not. Well you know...you generally end up doing what your Mama says ;0). And the day that I left the Tri-Cities I spent 5 hours in the tattoo shop while my Mom, sister and I all got the tattoos we'd come up with to get. I mean mine wasn't hard. I've had a necklace for years that I bought with the intention of getting a tattoo of it. I mean when you open a catalog and gasp because the necklace you are looking at was the picture you had in your head for a tattoo..well you buy the necklace and wait for the day :) Which ended up being two weeks ago...
Anyways!! I found out that my friend and I could tetris pack my car and I left for California. With no job, no real place to live, no money, and a whole lot of faith that God was going to take care of me! And trying to not worry over everything was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I knew that I was supposed to be in Redding. I just didn't know how it was going to happen. I had a job interview, and was looking at a place that I could live at temporarily. But what if that didn't work out? What was I going to do? Well all I know is God didn't bring me down here to abandon me. Not at all. I got here on Friday night and stayed the night at a friend's house. Saturday I came to look at a house of a friend of a friend. I came in not knowing if I was actually staying there and she basically was telling me this was my room and where I could put my things. By the end of walking around the house I got a key and began unpacking my car. Yes it's temporary. I'm housesitting until she returns permanently. Yes I will most likely be moving out in a few months after my job starts and I get settled a little bit..but for now I feel like Cinderella in a beautiful castle. And I'm gonna rest in the goodness and abundance of God.
I went to my job interview the following Monday and had an ok interview. I mean I never know how to judge them. Sometimes I don't know if I express and portray myself accurately. I walked away a little nervous after being given a response of "Well if you haven't heard back from us in a week, give us a call and ask what the status is" A WEEK!?! I had to wait a whole week to find out. Let me tell you that right there is a humongous test of faith. I began to internally freak out every day that I hadn't heard from them. But then really try to rest and just trust God. Oh and by rest I mean literally. I got there on Saturday and by Monday afternoon I could hardly walk. My lower back was in intense pain that I couldn't do anything beyond go to the freezer for the ice pack and ice my back and walk around the house trying to loosen it up. I don't know for sure what the issue was, but once I removed the lovely memory foam mattress pad off of my bed my back began to feel almost instantly better. Sad to think that it hurts me more than helps me..but at least I know what the cause was...I'm feeling much better now..
But still trying not to freak out about whether I was getting the job or not. Whether I needed to start looking for another job or not. I mean I had claimed this job long before I got here. This was my job and I didn't have another choice or option. Nothing like putting all your eggs in one basket. I didn't feel like I was supposed to look for another job and every time I tried to look on craigslist I just got full of anxiety and couldn't handle it. Meanwhile at Friday night church I got an incredible word from a person at church which had absolutely nothing to do with what I stood up for prayer for. But God knew what I needed. I needed a faith building and confirming word. And the same thing again on Sunday. I stood up for prayer and got a word that really didn't have to do with what I stood up for..but what was confirmed was I was here in Redding, and God brought me here. He opened up a door that no man can shut and that HE IS going to provide for me. In every aspect of my life..not just a job, but a job, clothing, food, place to live. ALL of it. He knows my need and he has me.
So Monday comes and I call back to inquire about the job. And no one answers the phone. 3 times. I finally get a person the 4th time and leave a message. And didn't hear back the rest of the day. So I wait. again. Tuesday morning I received a text telling me they were doing a background check and that he would get a hold of me later that day or Wednesday with shifts that might work for me. Within minutes of that all of my references began calling or texting me saying they had gotten a hold of them to ask about me. And yet I wait..again..Wednesday I received another text. An offer of two shifts. Of 42 hours a week. A 24 hour shift and an 18 hour shift. With only one thing potentially stopping me. See the 24 hour shift goes from Saturday night to Sunday night. And I moved down here so I could go to Bethel. I wrestled with it for about an hour. Can I take the law out of going to church out of my mind...and be ok with going to church only on Friday nights..and have that service become the only time I made it to a church service that week? I mean we don't live in a culture any more that shuts down for Sundays...I just had to get over the fact that yes I could in fact not go to church on Sunday and that Jesus would still love me for that. That Friday night services are in fact amazing and it's going to be awesome to make that my service. And right now this is new season..And if it involves not going to church on a Sunday than that's what I'm going to do. To not put God in a box and serve him in new ways that I might have never thought about doing before.
So I texted back and accepted the offer. And I went in today for paperwork to get a TB test and fingerprints done, and next week I will start training for my new position at Compass. And working one on one with some developmentally disabled adults, with a company that I am sooo super excited to be working for. They have some amazing values and a heart to serve people. I can't wait to see where this Journey is now going to take me.
I waited on the Lord. And he worked out all the details for me. I have a place to live, and an upcoming job. Now it's not like I stop here and stop trusting. Haha..oh no...this walk of faith is just starting..I'm sure I will have all new ways to trust and walk out with him...this is really only the beginning :)

Ready for summer
I am so ready for summer break...It's bittersweet because it's really my last summer break. I'm pretty sure that I won't be having a job where I get summers off once I get to California so I'm going to enjoy this one for sure..especially since I will be in California for most of it!
My preschoolers get out of school one week from tomorrow! We only have 5 school days left with them, so we are definitely feeling the end. Tomorrow they are going to start going around and checking out all the kindergarten and music and art rooms and those kinds of things...so it's gonna go by fast.
I ended up taking Thursday off so I can get more stuff moved over to the house before the moving people come to take the big stuff...it's feeling more final. I really am only going to live with my family for two more nights..then they are going to that house and I am staying here until I put the rest of my stuff into storage and go hang out somewhere for a couple of weeks before I go to Redding for July. I'm going to be there for a good 3 weeks this summer, starting on the 4th of July..so it's going to be all new and exciting..
And of course my elbow starts hurting again today. Must be rebelling from all the moving I did this weekend...little does it know I still have several more weeks of moving :( So I really don't have time for it to hurt.
But I'm off to see about paying my tuition for Worship U and going to bed...trying to keep a routine and not be "burning the midnight oil" here..all that's going to do is make me sick. And ain't nobody got time for that!

Oh hey Apr....May
So April has now come and gone. I've noticed my pattern of when life isn't going well neither is the blog. I think for May I'm going to make it a goal to blog every day. I have some pretty big life changes coming up in the next couple of months. And it's time to quit hiding around and get ready for them. And I think by blogging I might be able to work through some things. So this post might be a little short and sweet tonight, I will be thinking of something to say for tomorrow ;)
Oh yeah. Life lesson fail: Didn't go to the gym at ALL during April. Not one day. After my going almost every day in March that was a complete fail. HAHAHA. But I'm not letting it get to me. Although I do need to get my fitness goals back to a forefront instead of on the back burner. Like always. This soon to be California girl has got to get a little healthier and fitter. ;) For Sure.
And just like always, I go outside for a 30 minute recess and HOLY INSTANT SUNBURN BATMAN! Yeah. my neck and chest are a little red ;) Needless to say I will be hitting the sunscreen tomorrow before work!

Wednesday weigh in week 99
Wow...I've been at this for 99 weeks. Scary LOL! I wish I could say I've made my goal and all that jazz..but I haven't. It's a learning process for sure.
In great news! I made it to a water aerobics class finally. I learned that I don't want to eat dinner beforehand however. It's called Water cardio and it lives up to its name. I also learned I need to scoot down and not be in the shallow shallow end. It still hurt my knee some..so I got some tips from the instructor. Somehow telling the instructor and all the other people there that it's my plan to come every Monday night should help me get there right? Right. But I was secretly excited. She came by to show me how to do stuff and I had caught on pretty quick. She kept telling me I was a pro for it being my first time. I guess most new first timers struggle a bit. But I literally just jumped on in. And I was definitely sore from it yesterday. My goal is to be there Mondays and probably Saturday mornings. Who knew Saturdays had mornings right? ;0) Haha...But I joined the gym to be able to use the pool. And that's what I plan on doing. Speaking of that. I am going to sit down this week and make up a workout plan for the next 90 days. I will take a picture and post it before next week so you can see it. See now I have told you, and you will keep me accountable to that too :0)
In not great news I gained 1.2 pounds back. Not surprised with the way my tummy has been feeling lately...I think I'm a little ahem backed up. Makes all the difference in the world ;) Sad. but true.
This week has been an odd work week. Monday was a holiday. Tuesday I only worked half day. Tomorrow I work a half day and I'm taking Friday off. It was supposed to be our conference week, however my teacher has just gotten off jury duty. So now we have 19 conferences to reschedule, and not a whole lot of work to be done this week. But after the craziness of last week it was nice this week to have a break. I can't complain too much. I mean we do have Thanksgiving and Christmas Break coming up soon. I only work 15 days in December. Then we get two weeks off. So we really don't have a lot of time with the kids in the next 6 weeks. We only have 6 more days with them in November. SO yeah.. 21 days with the kids for the rest of the year. CRAZY! This year has gone by so so fast. Rather scary.

Wednesday weigh in week 96
Well I knew that magic wasn't going to last forever LOL!. The scale was back up today. I was actually quite frustrated because each time I weighed myself it said something different. So I said forget it and went back to bed! Literally. I called in sick today. After something to do every day and night for the last two weeks my body just couldn't take it anymore. I have been feeling crappy for the last several days. And I just stayed home and rested today. I did finally get the scale to say the same thing twice so that's what I went with. It was nice to have nothing to do today, but I will be back at the grind tomorrow. One of these days I'm going to make it to the gym that I joined that I haven't gone to yet! Haha. I did notice that it hasn't come out of my account yet either...so at least I didn't lose out on any money ;) My goal is to go at least 3 times a week. It's only 21 a month. So that doesn't seem all that bad to start out with. Bare minimum I want to at least go and sit in the hot tub tomorrow night! That's part of the reason I joined the gym in the first place!
But for me? I'm back to bed. I never did nap today so I'm ready to actually go back to sleep...and hopefully this time my brain will shut off enough and let me do it!

Wednesday Weigh in Week 88
Lots can happen in a week.
So I pretty much haven't worked out since last Wednesday. I have been trying my best not to get sick. And with two people on antibiotics in my house, that hasn't been easy. And I have just been tired. Plain and simple. Or my head hurts or my back hurts. Or both. I have been going to bed super early. And sleeping in. And now it's back to work. So I'm really needing to find a balance of working out and life. Oh and I got registered for my first college class ever. So yeah.
But now sitting here, my head is pounding and I've been up since 4:30 this morning. SO good night all! Here's to a new week!

Wednesday Weigh in Week 86
Do you ever have days where you just wake up just feeling smaller? I mean I know they are rare, and far and few in between hahaha!
But today was one of those days! I woke up and just felt different. So I grabbed my tape measurer and sure enough. My meausrements around my belly button was -1 inch! Maybe all these workouts are starting to actually do something ;) I mean I have no idea weight wise what I weigh. I'm gonna go with close to the same because my pants aren't really much looser. Or anything like that. I'm not tugging to keep my pants up or anything. But I've noticed with all the squats that my hips feel a bit better and my stomach was feeling better today :0) So I guess the patience is just waiting for the weight to come off. I have now worked out for 14 days in a row! I mean, I guess I'm not exactly eating all my workouts back, but I figure I should be seeing some sort of results by now right?
That would be my guess. As of tomorrow, I will be halfway(ish) done with my workouts for the month. That's good, cause I'm getting kind of tired of them! Haha. I have already decided what I will do differently next month. I'm not gonna try to do it all the same day. I'm going to have to break things up. I mean, in the summer I will have time to do 2 hour workouts, but not so much during the school year. There is just more going on. I want to be able to scale it down to an hour, so I can do it all in the morning and still have time to get me and the boys ready for school.
Which starts 2 weeks from today! Geesh. That summer break went fast. I thoroughly enjoyed not doing a whole lot at all! And now I have the next two weeks to get my behind in gear and get stuff done. Oh the life of a procrastinator ;)
Oh...so I did a 45 second plank today! I'm quite shocked that I'm doing this. Now granted my butt is probably too high in the air still, but I feel like my back is pretty straight? So yeah. I'm still working on that. But I'm doing it! That's halfway to the 90 seconds that it wants you to do after 30 days. So I'm feeling pretty good about being able to do 45 seconds. Even if I'm doing it "wrong" ;)
It's a non scale vicotry kind of day :0)

Small goal, huge victory?!?
Haha, well Steph, I did say I was going to post more than once didn't I? I better do it then!
At the beginning of the school year, I had made myself a goal. I was not going to buy anything out of the vending machine this ENTIRE school year.
So let's back up on that one. You see, last school year when my mom ended up having surgery and life went out of whack and blah blah blah, I spent a lot of $1 bills on this pack of cookies that had 600 calories in it. I bought a lot of them...and ate them all in one sitting of course. So at the end of the summer I thought it would be a good idea to not buy anything at all the next school year. Because I really didn't want to eat 600 calories worth of cookies every day.
But I didn't tell anyone my goal of course. I don't know why...I guess it was more of an internal goal. But I still made the goal nonetheless and off we went into the school year. Which still brought more trials and unimaginable things that surely I could have eaten my way through. Which, coincidentally I did. Mind you, I just didn't get the food out of the vending machine :)
About halfway through the year I texted my former teacher and told her that I hadn't bought anything all year! She was proud of me haha, because she had bought a lot of the same cookies, just not as many as me ;) And then I did tell my new teacher and other para at some point in the year because we would talk about me not buying anything and how close I was to the end of the year.
Now I still consider this a victory. I held off an entire year and didn't get anything from a vending machine, that might seem silly to some people. But for me it's huge. And the funny thing was, at some point during the year the cookies that I have always gotten got replaced with some chocolate kind so I couldn't have eaten them anyway.
But it still didn't stop me from getting in the car and going to get a coffee and a cookie from my favorite local coffee shop that is conveniently just up the street from my work. Yes. if I time it right, I can get there, get my coffee and get back in my 15 minute break. But I didn't buy anything from the vending machine.
It's a black and white thing for me, there isn't much gray. I can either buy things from the vending machine or I can't. As I was doing some grocery shopping today I was looking down the aisle and looking at things going, well I can't have that in the house and I can't have this in the house. It's just not a good thing. I will eat an entire sleeve of graham crackers at a time. I went through a package of golden oreos in 3 days. And I could have done it much sooner too. And don't even ask me to keep Nillas in the house. Or brown sugar pop tarts. And I have been known to eat an entire box of mac and cheese. Just saying.
So at this point, I think that next school year, I probably won't be tempted to buy anything from the machine. It became really easy to not buy the peanuts when I found out I was allergic to them, but I have become so used to just eating the other food I'm allergic to and dealing with the stomach consequences. I'm just letting you know that having 2 Dutch Bros Iced Kickers a day is not so good on my stomach...let alone 1000 calories that I don't need to be drinking. I was actually looking forward to my soy drink yesterday morning. Trying to get through the last week of the move was hard and it was just easier to buy the coffee. Plus my little coffee maker is not working so well, and I don't want to use the 6 cup one all the time. I either will need a new gasket or I will be buying a 3 cup coffee pot soon. :)
Well that was just lots of rambling. I still am going to post about the house a bit, but I need to get my pictures on my computer for that. And that means figuring out my Windows 8 stuff and getting all my stuff transferred from on computer to the other. Oh the joys of being a non tech person!

Wednesday Weigh in Week 76
You know it's about that time of the month when you go "whew! I only gained a pound!"
Huh? Hahaha
So I'm only up a pound. And somehow that's still ok. I'm so on the cusp of "freedom" Or being completely moved out of the old house. Or 11 weeks of summer vacation. Or all of it together.
And I was so disappointed that I forgot I was going to go running today. It's national running day. And of course it was stinking hot. Plus Wednesdays just aren't that good for me. And by the time I remembered, it was too late. Sad. I will be back to running soon though. I miss it for sure..And I'm pretty sure my body misses it too ;)
I was reading a blog today and she was talking about a scale that doesn't give you your weight when you step on it...it tells you (after you set it for the first time) what you have lost from that initial number or gained from it. I'm thinking that's kinda cool. And it's pretty decently priced for a scale. I'm considering checking it out. Not that I'm really obsessed with the number on the scale...I know its just a number and that our bodies just do things differently. But it might just take away something I don't know. I will see. I'm really just hoping that I win the giveaway she is doing on her blog ;) Then I won't have to buy it! *fingers crossed*

Wednesday Weigh in week 75
75 weeks. That's all it took for me to gain all my weight back. grr. Yep. The weigh in that didn't happen last week was just a sign of what was to come this morning. But who am I kidding. With the move and not having time to make my lunches, combined with eating out EVERY day this month. I'm pretty sure I did. Sodium up the roof? And oh ya know two coffees a day. I'm not surprised at this gain at all. My survival mode kicked in and it wasn't nice. I'm really looking forward to summer where I can stay home and make lunches and no eat at DQ every day. I mean. I'm getting pretty sick of ice cream right now. And that right there folks is an amazing statement for me to say.
I could throw the towel in. I could delete my blog, and just convince myself that I will always be fat and things won't change and live my life this way, hating myself for the weight and just being miserable.
But I have always believed that by finishing what I start with my weight loss that it will transpire over into every area of my life. Even by moving, I am just downsizing so so much. I told my aunt the other day that if it doesn't have a significant meaning in my life and its not on display somewhere in my house then I am not keeping it. I mean obviously there are just some things that I have to keep for taxes, but a lot of stuff I just don't need. Along with getting my weight under control this summer, I am going to be organizing and downsizing more stuff. I have gotten good about getting rid of things, but for some reason I hang on to paper items forever. And that's my goal in the 11 weeks that I am off, is going through tubs of things that I don't want to be holding onto, and high kicking my butt back to where it should be. I know I should be happy now but I am not. I can't be. I won't ever be happy knowing that I am still almost 130 pounds overweight.
That's my vent. I know I won't be putting it off forever, and even if I can just find one thing to change by next week, I would be doing better. I've got two more weeks to get everything out of the other house. And then I get to actually enjoy my new house instead of trying to cram as much in as possible ;)

Wednesday weigh in Week 74
A funny thing happened on the way to today's weigh in...
It didn't happen.
I got my scale out of my bedroom, and put it on the floor and stepped on it, and it didn't turn on. I think I had set some stuff on top of it when I put it away last week and it must have left the battery going....so at any rate I think the battery died. I've never had that happen and so naturally I didn't have batteries on hand for it. And the screw driver to unscrew the spot.
So I didn't weigh in. Which I guess isn't a bad thing. I was very worried about my weigh in anyway. LOL. So I guess not seeing a number wouldn't depress me any. And it's just been rough moving this month. I haven't had time to cook my lunches, so I've been eating out every day for the last 3 weeks. I'm really sick of Dairy Queen by the way. Dang them and their $5 dollar lunch ;) And coffee has been my friend. And I've slowly seen the scale creep back up. And I really wasn't looking forward to the number today.
So lo and behold it didn't happen. I think I'm at my breaking point physically. I'm back to being unable to do things. Like kneel down or squat. Even walking up the stairs is giving me trouble. I'm achy and itchy and uncomfortable in my clothes. And I haven't seemed to have found the "re-motivating" factor. Like all of that won't do it for me? I don't really know. I guess I'm just super stubborn in that area. I can't have someone tell me what to do. I have to do it myself, and figure it out myself. I'm weird like that. I have to do it myself when it comes to working out. I guess if I'm super excited I will do it with friends. But I kinda prefer to do it solo? I'm odd I guess. Of course who am I kidding. I haven't worked out in months! I definitely de-railed a while back and I haven't been able to get back on course. I'm off work in 2 weeks for 11 weeks (Hello Summer break!!) and I'm hoping to use that time to get back into my groove and get going. I've got to get myself into a routine again. One that I can figure out how not to break when my life gets super crazy.
Because I know it will. :0)

Wednesday Weigh in Week 73
I'm just going to assume right now that my computer won't upload my picture like the last two weeks and just tell you what my weight was. I'm in complete and utter I don't care moments right now. I'm still going back and forth between two houses trying to box up yard sale stuff that didn't sell and get the rest of what we think we want to keep to the new house. I think quite literally for the last two weeks I have eaten out every day for lunch simply because I didn't have time to make lunches during the weekend. I am so extremely sick of fast food right now it's not even funny! Yet I have another super crazy weekend and I don't know if I will have the time or the energy to do it this weekend for the 3 days that I need a lunch next week. I already know one of the days we are going to lunch because we don't have kids that day. School is almost out. We have 8 days left with our kids. It's crazy to think that but we do. Well 9 days I guess. But tomorrow shouldn't count LOL!
239.4. I am exactly 1 pound away from where I started this blog in 2011. Ouch. And still I am in survival mode. I haven't switched out yet, and I'm not sure that I will before school gets out. I know this summer is going to be all about refocusing and getting myself back on track.
So I'm just hoping for the next 3 weeks that I can keep it under 240. That's the goal for right now anyway.

Wednesday Weigh in Week 72
Oh. my. gosh. So I moved houses on Saturday (same area, different house) and we discovered when we went to turn the A/C on that it in fact did NOT turn on. So we have naturally been in a heat wave, I'm talking 90-95 degrees this week. Today I saw the thermostat reach 89 in my house. The landlady has had 2 people come out to give her quotes to tell her it is in fact dead Jim. :0) So I'm so hoping we get a new one by this weekend. It's supposed to be 97 on Saturday. oh. my gosh. Heat is not my friend. The poor boys have had such a hard time falling asleep. Tonight I put them to bed with an ice pack under their pillow cases. And the one on the top bunk is on the floor.
end rant.
So let's see if the picture posts this time, I'm at the same weight I was last week. Still high. But ok for now. I will be for sure figuring out how to start losing weight again. My knee is bothering me so badly right now. I know part of it is because of the weight. :( I wasn't supposed to gain all my weight back :(
The rest of this month is going to be crazy. We have to have a yard sale this weekend, and still get everything moved out of the house by the next weekend. So the weekend after that we can take a train to Portland to have some fun :0) And then the week after that school will be out and I will be in full force summer! Woo-hoo! I can't wait!
Nope. no picture. I wonder if I can edit it from my phone and add it. We will see.

Wednesday Weigh in Week 64
Well, something about getting my vitamins in has been helping me I think. I think I'm not as emotional blah. I lost around another pound again, and really all I have done is started the vitamins back up. I haven't even really been able to get 8 cups of water in a day. I can usually get around 4, so I know that I could improve in that area..but yeah. A pound is a pound I guess :0)
Today I made soup for me! Haha..I had a friend give me a total basic lentil soup recipe. Lentils, chicken broth, water and chicken in the crockpot. So super easy. And it didn't taste too bad. I mean looking at a bag of lentils I'm kind of wondering why I never ate them before? 10 grams of protein in 1/4 cup of dry lentils. Holy Moly! Here I am trying to figure out how to get protein in. Well ok. I need to find stuff to do with lentils for breakfast. I'm trying to figure out how to make a wrap with the soup I made. Because honestly I made it with too much water. So I drained it and ate it like a thick soup. I might change out some ham dices or a friend suggested chicken sausage, which I haven't tried. Although I do like sausage like Jimmy Dean sausage, I am realizing that I don't really care for the patties or links. Plus they are super high in fat. Not that I usually look at that, but when I'm looking at is as a main source of protein I guess I do now :) But I gotta figure out how long I can store lentils after they are cooked. And eat it up :) Yum. I can't wait to experiment with it.
Not too exciting around here. I am counting down the days until spring break :0) We had conferences this week which meant we didn't have kids. But then I also had to use my trade time this week. I actually ended up taking 18 hours off this week! So it was weird to have two days off and then go in late two days. Hopefully when the kids come back next week everyone will be all rested and cheerful again :) Like I said, we are counting down the days until spring break :0)

Wednesday Weigh in Week 59
Oh boy. This hasn't been a very good week. I've fallen out of the habit of taking my vitamins again and I think it's starting to show. I've been really tired, so what do I do? get coffee. Yeah. Bad. And Monday night I ate at Olive Garden. yeah. My throat closed up :( So naturally when I ate the leftovers on Tuesday it did the same thing. Except I was at work. And I can't exactly take a benadryl at work and go to sleep. So I just pushed through. And maybe had some coffee ;)
And to top it all off I haven't worked out at all since running the 5k in January. boy oh boy am I on a streak ;)
Anyways. I don't have a whole lot to report right now. Well we are doing a 10,000 step challenge this month at school. We are tracking our steps during the week and writing them down. I've discovered I walk a lot during the day. I've hit over 10,000 every day since Monday. No wonder I am so tired by the time I get home from school. It's going to be interesting to see tomorrows numbers since we don't have kids and I will be in a meeting and sitting most of the day.
So I am wearing my fitbit again. Except it's on the verge of death. I can't see the numbers anymore so I have to log onto the computer to see my steps. Which kind of makes the digital pedometer useless. So hopefully I will win one of the ones they are giving away at work! That would be fun.

Wednesday Weigh in Week 55
Success again! (And cute toes ;) I really gotta get that polish off my feet!)
I really don't know how I managed that one, because I didn't work out so much at all. And it's Wednesday. And I haven't worked out at all this week!! Man. Some weeks are just like that! But I have been trying to be really good about no dairy. Even though at this particular moment it's KILLING me! I so badly want some ice cream right now it's not even funny. Or some coffee. That would be nice right about now too. It's hard to get rid of things for good.
I can tell things in my body are shifting. Even if it's only been 3 pounds. The pants are fitting a little different and the cheekbones are starting to show again. It's an encouraging little sign of progress. Especially since the button came off my jeans yet again and I am down to one pair of pants that fit that I can wear to work. That smaller pant size has to come soon or I'm gonna get tired of wearing the same pants ;)
I got to wear my new shoes today. My sister got them for me for my birthday. That's one of the things that I do look forward to the most is my feet shrinking so I can actually walk into a store and buy a pair of shoes without having to order them from online :( Oh what a happy day that will be.
Sorry for the short post, but I've got to get back on a better sleep schedule. Christmas break really threw me off, and now I have dogs that I have to take care of in the mornings while my sister is off traveling for work. Never a dull moment I tell you what....

Wednesday weigh in week 49
49!! Oy vey! This year is rapidly coming to a close. And I am nowhere near where I wanted to be. Nevertheless I shall keep going.
I have been sick again for the last week. It started the very day we got off for Thanksgiving break. Although if I think about it I was starting to get sick before then. Just didn't realize it. I basically slept 12 hours every night, Wednesday through Saturday. And then woke up in the middle of the night on Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes you can sleep too much and the NyQuill won't work :( I have also had a low grade fever, which made me go into the doctor. 5 minutes and he decides it's "viral". Which is why I hate going to the doctor. Thank you for taking my money and telling me that. No. Really. Grrrrrr. Now I feel worse and don't have the money to go back to the doctor! That's what I get for going to the doctor too soon I suppose. See what I get for trying to be proactive?
So there is this teacher at work who has lost a bunch of weigh this year. She happens to have the same lunch that I do, and I was listening to them all talk today during lunch and they were asking her all sorts of questions. Like how much have you lost, what have you done...all those questions. Well she has lost 75 pounds since January. And all I kept thinking was man..That should have been me! I should be the one that people keep asking me what I have done. Just a moment I had today.
I don't know if it's all the medicine I've been taking or what, but my body is still retaining the weight. I mean sleeping so much over break, I ended up down at 222 again. But go figure it crept back up to 225 this morning. I haven't quite got it figured out yet. And it's irritating. But then again, so is this stupid recurring sinus infection. :(

Wednesday weigh in week 46
Well I realized I got buy and didn't recap my Bloomsday training last week. I actually skipped a workout. I ended up being sick that day and wanted to run but eventually decided against it. I took a total extra day of rest. I am hopefully getting back to feeling like a normal person. Except for when I stay up until 1:00 am on election day and get up 4 hours later :/ (I am EXHAUSTED right now..short post). I have a feeling I am going to switch up next week a little bit and trade my running day and cross training day. Monday is a holiday, so I don't have work. And I can go run that day and then cross train on Tuesday and it will be good :0) Which is what I ended up doing today. I was just so beat from only getting 4 hours of sleep and being on my feet all day that I decided to rest my legs and I will cross train on Friday which was supposed to be my rest day. :-) I'm glad I can be flexible and not beat myself up when I do things like that. Whew. So that's the current update on Bloomsday!
And I don't know where the ___ 3 pounds came on from, but it did. Not really liking a 3 pound gain right now. All I can say is my stomach feels like it is full of air, and has for a couple of days. So I guess I'm not surprised, but definitely irritated. Things will be changing in my food and they will be changing quite soon. I'm thinking I pretty much have to cut out all dairy and wheat/gluten again. I've been lax in those areas. And I'm pretty sure that's the cause of it. So I need to get back to serious over here. Which is probably gonna mean no more coffee again. I just have quite the love/hate relationship with coffee. I love it, well I love it with milk and syrup..but that's the problem. I don't love it with almond milk, or coconut milk. And I'm just scared to try soy milk. So I guess it means it will have to go bye bye again. Or at least move to a social thing. Where I could have it once in a while while I'm out with a friend. But not every day like I have been. Plus it's just an added money cost that I simply don't have right now. Crazy as it seems, I should spend the money that I spend on coffee every month and spend it on real foods ;) or Vitamins even ;) What a thought! I think I'm gonna phase it out by an every other day thing for right now. I only have a few grounds left. So yeah. Maybe someday I won't be allergic to milk anymore and I will be able to enjoy coffee again. But definitely decaf. If I start drinking it again it will have to be decaf. Whole other topic LOL!
oh yeah..I said short post huh? :0)

Wednesday Weigh in Week 45
Boy am I ever ready to put October behind me! Here's to November. Hoping for better results! Being sick wasn't too kind to me last week. I did manage to do all my workouts for my Bloomsday training, but I hit a wall on Monday. I came home slightly feverish, did my cross-training workout on the bike. I mean I didn't try to go too hard because I knew I wasn't feeling good. I went about 12 mph on there for half an hour. But right before bed my head started hurting, and when I woke up on Tuesday it was still hurting! So needless to say I made the decision to go to work AND not work out on Tuesday due a huge headache and way too much caffeine :( I really went back and forth on it. Because I knew if I missed just ONE workout that I would just want to quit and give up. I mean yeah. I worked all day today and then came home and went trick or treating with the boys. And you better bet I dang well counted that for my cross training tonight! I am stiff and sore LOL! But I will be back at it tomorrow. I haven't decided if I'm gonna try to do my week two runs 3 days in a row or just bag the first run. I'm pretty early into it, so I think it will be ok.
My brother's costumes were a big hit this year :) My engineer of a sister made them into Lego's. Think Indiana Jones and a robot Lego :) Everyone loved them and complimented them on them. :) They were much better than all the scary costumes I kept seeing. I have to say Halloween is my LEAST favorite holiday. I don't quite like the idea of sugaring up children like that, or necessarily agree with the Holiday. I know I'm gonna have a bunch of cranky pre-schoolers tomorrow that's for sure. I just wish it were Friday already haha! But I guess tomorrow is close enough :) My pre-schoolers don't come on Friday, so we like to think of Thursday's as Friday in my class :0)
Sometimes I feel like it's hard having goals in weight loss because I never feel like I accomplish them. So I didn't lose two pounds this week :( So does that mean I'm not going to get to 199 by the end of the year? I don't know? It's just so hard to focus and be so determined during the holidays. I feel like Halloween kicks that off and now it's like downhill to the end of the year! I mean I have 8 weeks. At that point I will have to lose 3 pounds a week to meet that goal. It just doesn't feel attainable :( But I keep going. Even if I get back down to 210 or 205 even that's still a 35 pound loss for the year. And that's still a good thing :0)

Wednesday Weigh in week 38
38 weeks. Where has this year gone? It's downright crazy to think that we are almost done with this year already. That's kind of how my mind works, we start hitting that cold weather and bam! The year is over. Haha..Twisted thinking...
I have been very very bad lately. Drinking coffeealmost every day. The problem is I don't have the stuff to make the coffee. So of course I have to buy it. And with all the money that I have spent on buying it, I could have just bought a bag of coffee, the syrup, and some sort of milk to go in it. *smacks forehead*. Then I could at least be making it at home.
I'm beginning to realize how big of an issue that dairy is for me. Only because I have been having a lot of it again lately with coffee and various ice cream runs. I am pretty sure it just like instantly bloats me. Which is a complete and utter shame because I LOVE milk. Which is probably why I've been having a hard time letting go of the coffee again. It's the only time I will have milk. Like I haven't sat down and had a glass of milk since I found out I was allergic to it. But I have had ice cream or frozen yogurt or coffee with milk in it :) It's so so hard to let go of something like that. I can tell the difference though.:/
I have been a good girl and stayed away from the peanuts. Now that's a miracle! I haven't had peanuts since July. Right at 3 months now. Oy. I gotta get cracked down on this milk and dairy again. The garlic has been hit and miss. I avoid it when I can. But it's an ingredient in almost everything known to mankind. Good grief! Things you wouldn't expect it to be in have it in there dang it! Haha. And I have gotten into a good routine of only eating beef 2x a week. That one is kind of easy. But I really have to plan for it however.
Having said all of that. I gained 1.6 pounds again. And its the choices I make in food. Now that I am back to school I really need to get settled back into a routine of eating and working out. I am really good at saying it. Now I really need to be good at doing it. If it's one thing I am learning this year about finishing what I start, it's that the process is more in my head. I am wanting it more than ever. I just need to figure out the applying process and I will be doing good :0)

2014. A year without the scale defining who I am. A year of finishing what I start.
